July 19th Denton Poets' Assembly Meeting Announcement

Greetings poets and lovers of poetry. Join us from 10 a.m. - Noon at the Emily Fowler Public Library in Denton for readings of poetry based on last months lesson by J. Paul Holcomb titled, “The Rondel,” a fourteenth century French form with characteristics similar to the villanelle and triolet.

J. Paul's lesson topic this month will address writing poems about "Heros."

Guests are always welcome and will be given an opportunity to read free choice poems.

We look forward to seeing you at the meeting and enjoying your poetry!

Denton Poets’ Assembly meets on the third Saturday of the month,10AM - Noon at the Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland Street, Denton, TX 76201. Meetings are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome.

Greetings DPA members and friends. I received the following notification today regarding the annual PST summer conference.

On a related note, J. Paul Holcomb just notified us that 
Annie Neugebauer won an NFSPS contest. 


What J. Paul didn't tell me is that  he placed in 4 of the national contests this year, including 1st place in one of them! 


Congratulations Annie and J. Paul! 



This is a big deal.

Final Announcement


The 45th Annual Poetry Society of Texas (PST) Summer Conference, On the Wings of Poetry, is to be held this week, Thursday—Saturday, July 10, 11 & 12 in Houston, Texas, hosted by The Poets Northwest Chapter in Houston. The conference venue is at Hyatt North Houston located at 425 North Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, TX 77060.

Speaking during the conference are poets Lisa Salinas, Sharon Young and Dr. Stephen Mendonca. Terry Jude Miller will be conducting a workshop. Texas Poet Laureate for 2013, Rosemary Catacalos, will be the Friday night Keynote speaker.
