The Denton Poets’ Assembly, DPA will meet on July 18th, at the Emily Fowler Branch Library from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
Following announcements and a welcome to visitors, DPA member and guest speaker will be Diane Glancy. Diane is an award winning poet and author. She will share her experiences at the NFSPS convention in Florida, including the 50 categories for poetry and will share the contest brochures. J Paul Holcomb won one contest and received several honorable mentions. Richard Schinzel also garnered an honorable mention. In addition, she plans to talk about putting a poetry manuscript together for the Eakin book award. The deadline for this Poetry Society of Texas publication is July 31.
Plan to read our Member Nature poems assignments during the August meeting. Instead, members will read two free choice poems. As always, we invite visitors to share their free choice poems.
Several DPA members are in Beaumont for the Poetry Society of Texas Summer Conference this weekend.
Members will read their Nature Theme poems from our June meeting in August.
