The Denton Poets’ Assembly, DPA will meet on August 15th at the Emily Fowler Branch Library from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
J. Paul Holcomb will deliver a poetry lesson following announcements.
After the lesson, members will read assigned Nature poems from the June meeting. Members and guests will read a free-choice following the assigned poem.
As always, we invite visitors to share their free choice poems.
During the month of August, Denton Poets’ Assembly members will submit poetry for the next addition of Merging Visions Collections, a collaborative effort between our poets and artists from VAST, the Visual Arts Society of Texas.
In addition, members of the Poetry Society of Texas will submit poems for the PST Annual competition.

Several DPA Members joined in an Open-Mic on July 30th with J. Paul Holcomb, Poet Laureate for the City of Lewisville, leading the way. We read with Christine Irving, Rebecca Hines, Patrick Marshall, Richard Weatherly, and others, 7-9 p.m. at the MCL Grand in Lewisville, Texas. All participants enjoyed an evening of delightful readings in support poets who gathered from all over north Texas!
