Denton Poets’ Assembly invites you to join us for poetry readings and Holiday Season brunch, Saturday December 21. We will be sharing our ekphrastic poems, ones inspired by artwork such as paintings and photos. As always, members and guests are welcome to bring a poem of your choice in any form.
The results are in for the Poetry Society of Texas annual competition and DPA members made a great showing. Nine DPA members were recognized in a total of fifty places. Four of our poets placed in the top three awards. Annie Neugebauer received a first place award and two second and third place awards. J. Paul Holcomb had a first place award and two third place awards. Jan Spence had two, second place awards and one third place. Beth Honeycutt received a third-place award. Richard Weatherly had a second placed award. In addition to those already mentioned the following placed in fourth through tenth place awards: Christine Irving, Cindy Guthrie Wood, Karona Drummond and T. Jervis Underwood. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
