At 10 we welcome guests and visitors then discuss some chapter business. Members will read assigned poems from J. Paul Holcomb's September lesson on the "Terza Rima Sonnet."
Following the assigned readings, J. Paul Holcomb will present his lesson for October, “Here’s the French form you’ve been waiting for, the rondeau.”
Members and guests have an opportunity to read a free-choice poem during the final hour of our meeting.

DPA VP Betty Roberts attended the Waco Wordfest and Georgetown Poetry Festival. She reported on those activities with the following comments:
"I went to the Waco Wordfest last weekend and the Georgetown Poetry Festival this past Friday and yesterday. In Waco, Karla Morton did a nice reading mostly from her Wooden Lions book and an interesting workshop on using fortune cookies for poems.
Michael Guinn from Fort Worth was a great emcee for Sunday afternoon’s open mic.
Joyce Gullickson, director with her husband Mike of the Georgetown Poetry Festival, said attendance was down from other years, but there were several good poems read. Saturday there was a reading from the 2018 Texas Poetry Calendar, which was very nice."
Thanks Betty for sharing this.
