Quarantines resulting from the COVID 19 pandemic necessitate the use of a virtual meeting format rather than our usual format.
Members understand and appreciate the chance to catch up with activities as best we can. This will require some flexibility. We will attempt to adhere as closely to a normal as possible.
Denton Poets’ Assembly plans to conduct a virtual meeting using Zoom. Susan Maxwell Campbell has distributed an email with meeting parameters and scheduling into the foreseeable future. DPA will meet from 10 a.m. through 12 p.m. for the regular meeting.
Read & Respond poetry assignments will be based on the work of contemporary poet Philip Larkin. Larkin was offered the laureateship but turned it down.
After the assigned readings Susan Maxwell Campbell will give an overview of the poet laureateship in Great Britain.
Members will be given an opportunity to read free-choice poems after the 11 a.m. break,
