Karla Morton was a founding member of the Denton Poets' Assembly. Karla and Alan are Poets' Laureate of Texas. This week she joins Alan Birkelbach and the Plano Civic Chorus on Friday October 27th at 7:30 p.m. at the Eiseman Center for readings from their published works.
MUSIC IN THE KEY OF LIFEPlano Civic Chorus
Music in the Key of Life! will blend modern poetry with choral works by Eric Whitacre, Ola Gjeilo, Jake Runestad, Stephen Paulus, Morten Lauridsen, Erik Esenvalds, Kim Andre Arnesen, Craig Hella Johnson, and Billy Joel. Former State of Texas Poet Laureates Alan Birkelbach and Karla K. Morton will host the performances with readings from their published works. Composer in Residence Debra Scroggins will create a new work to celebrate the chorus’ 45th anniversary. And the newly formed Plano Chamber Chorus will also make its debut.
